Eric Steven-Terrell Nelson, Jr (a.k.a. EJ)

EJ is a preschooler at Lily's Learning Pad, Richmond , VA.

Santanna Anderson

Mother: Tahtianje Allen

Grandparents: Frank and Velma Shelton


Santanna will be in Kindergarten when he returns to Jouett Elementary School, Mineral, VA this Fall. 


Key Accomplishments/Activities:

  • Santanna taught himself to read and excels in word recognition.  
  • Award for Best Break Dancer 

Jona Holmes

Parents: Joseph and Tonya Holmes


Jonah is in Kindergarten at All Saints Catholic School, Richmond, VA. 


Key Accomplishments/Activities:

  • November 2024 - Honored as Student of the Month for demonstrating the Virtue of Humility - always leading with kindness, listening to others, and putting his heart into everything he does 
  • Academic Excellence award for school year
  • Takes piano lessons 
  • Plays soccer (recreational and for school)
  • Takes swimming lessons
  • Attends KidStrong to build strength and confidence
  • Participated his school's talent show 

Madison Elise Batchleor

Parents: Sean and Shari Batchleor

Madison will be attending the Pre-K program at All Saints Catholic School, Richmond, VA in the Fall.

  • Loves to draw and play doctor with her babysitter
  • Loves gardening. Her favorite vegetable is cucumber. 
  • Attends Central Virginia Dance Academy. Her first dance recital was on June 7, 2025 at the Dominion Energy Center, Richmond, VA.

Taayvion Johnson

Taayvion was promoted to 2nd grade at Jouett Elementary School, Mineral, VA.

Kingston L. Johnson

Kingston was promoted to 3rd grade at Jouett Elementary School.

  • Kingston's self portrait was displayed at the Art Festival at Louisa County High School.

Jaeson Eldridge

Gabrielle Dean

Gabrielle was promoted to the 4th grade at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.  Her favorite subject is Social Studies. 


Gabrielle loves to sing and play piano.

Kendal Mallory

Mother: Kelli Mallory


Kendal is a rising 5th grader at Ashland Elementary School.  He is looking forward to playing football, joining the school's soccer team, and learing to play drums in the next school year.

Channing Carter Bush

Parents: Derek and Jena Bush


Channing was promoted to the 7th grade at Hungary Creek Middle School, Henrico County

 

Key Accomplishments/Activities:

  • Maintained A+ grades entire school year
  • Earned advanced scores on SOL tests
  • Channing tested at a 10th grade math level and has been recommended for 8th grade courses in the Fall.
  • Earned a spot in the Student Spotlight program for his character and contributions to school life 
  • Nominated for the Junior Leadership Program
  • Helped lead the school's flag football team to a championship win, scoring 3 touchdowns in the final game.
  • Played for Glen Allen Basketball team

Tristan Johnson

Tristan was promoted to the 7th grade at Louisa County Middle School.

Jason Walker, Jr.

Parents: Jason Sr. and Dawna Walker 


Jason completed the 8th grade at Brookland Middle School. This Fall, he will be enrolled in the Allied Health and Human Services Specialty Center at Hermitage High School. 


In the picture on the left, Jason is giving the student address at the 8th Grade RISE Ceremony. 


He was accepted in the following programs:

  • Advance College Academy for Business Administration at Highland Springs High School
  • Humanities Program at Hermitage High School
  • ACE program for 11th and 12th grade years


Key Accomplishments/Activities:

  • One of eight students selected to participate in the Life Ready program (an initiative focused on preparing students for life beyond high school)
  • Selected as 8th grade Student of the Week
  • Perfect Attendance Award
  • Spanish Award
  • Captain of Brookland Middle School's  football and wrestling teams  
  • Captain of the Glen Allen Ravens'  football team.  His team won the 12U team division championship. Jason was named Most Valuable Player. 
  • Most improved player for Brookland Middle School's baseball team
  • Peer helper for UYBL basketball league which helps special needs children learn to play the game
  • Played trombone in Brookland Middle School's band. Jason received an Advance Band Award.

Elijah Winston

Elijah was promoted to the 10th grade at Louisa County High School.

Christian Coles

Christian was promoted to the 10th grade at Hermitage High School.

Passion Gaines

Maliah Wyatt

Parents: Neil and Leomary Wyatt


Maliah graduated from Highland Springs High School. 


She took dual enrollment courses through J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in the Advance College Academy program.  Maliah earned an  Associates in Business degree from Reynolds prior to completing high school. 


Maliah plans to attend the School of Animal Sciences at Virginia Tech in the Fall to pursue her dream of becoming  a veterinarian. Through the Partnership for the Future program , she currently interns at Richmond SPCA animal shelter. 


Maliah holds membership in the following clubs/organizations:

  • P7 Bible Club
  • Future Business Leaders of America
  • First Responders Club
  • Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society (President)
  • National Honor Society (Recruitment  Officer)


Key Accomplishments/Activities:

  • Maintained a 4.58 GPA
  • Ranked #4 in her graduating class
  •  University of Virginia's Jefferson Book Award for emulating Thomas Jefferson as an innovative and creative leader 
  • Ranked #3 on Highland Springs Varsity Tennis team
  • Received numerous seals on her diploma (Community Service, Governor's Award, Scholastic Excellence, National Honor Society, Excellence in Civics Education)
  • President's Honor Roll at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College
  • Graduated from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College (Magna Cum Laude )
